A. Use complete and clear sentences
Aisha you have several ideas joined together in long sentences. For example, the description of the balcony, beach, fresh air, and birds can be separated into shorter sentences.
Better:
“My home has a balcony and a beautiful view of the beach. I enjoy the fresh air and watching the birds.”
B. Use the correct verb forms
you are writing about enjoying activities and receiving a bicycle. The verb should match the intended meaning.
“I want to get a bicycle for my birthday.” — a wish or desire.
“I got a bicycle for my birthday.” — something that happened in the past.
“I love riding my bicycle.” — an activity that you enjoy.
C. Improve sentence connections
Instead of repeatedly using “and” you can use words such as because, where, also, and while.
Example: “I enjoy sitting on the porch because I can relax and enjoy the fresh air.”
D. Improve punctuation and capitalization
Begin every sentence with a capital letter.
Write I in uppercase whenever referring to yourself.
Use commas to separate items in a list.
End complete sentences with a full stop.
Avoid crossing out words repeatedly; plan the sentence before writing it.
3. Vocabulary improvement
Aisha you can make the paragraph more interesting by replacing simple words with descriptive vocabulary.
Simple word or phrase
Better vocabulary
Special
Wonderful, unique
Lots of birds
Many birds, a flock of birds
Fresh air
Cool, refreshing breeze
Looking at the house view
Enjoying the beautiful scenery
Sitting on the porch
Relaxing on the porch
I love living here
I feel happy and comfortable here
A lot of friends
Many friends, several friends
Teaching tip: Encourage the student to use just two or three new descriptive words in the next paragraph rather than replacing every simple word.
4. What the student has done well
Ideas: You have included personal details about the home, friends, and birthday wishes.
Description: Mentioning the beach, fresh air, and birds helps the reader imagine the surroundings.
Personal voice: “I love living here” communicates genuine feelings.
Organisation: The paragraph has a clear central topic — why the home is special.
You have written a lovely paragraph about your home! I like how you have included details about the balcony, beach, birds, and your friends. You have shared your feelings clearly and creatively.
To improve your writing, focus on making complete sentences, using correct punctuation, and avoiding too many ideas in one sentence. Try using descriptive words such as beautiful, peaceful, and refreshing to make your paragraph more interesting.
Keep writing, keep learning, and let your wonderful ideas shine!
